For makeup to sit well, your skin needs to be hydrated. You hydrate your skin by exfoliating – removing all excess debris. From there, you moisturise and drink LOTS of water. This tip alone will enhance your makeup game.
I use acne.org.za‘s cleanse, which exfoliates and hydrates while fighting off acne. I also use their moisturiser to keep my skin hydrated. After exfoliating and applying the acne.org.za products, my skin is soft and ready for makeup application.
There are many different ways to apply your makeup, and what works for one person doesn’t always work for another. The only way to find out what works best is by trying them all! I like to use brushes instead of my fingers because they allow me more control over where the product goes, but that’s a personal preference.
I think it’s important to remember that your makeup routine is only as good as the products you use. The more natural and organic they are, the better your skin will look!
When dealing with acne, it is vitally important that you wash your hands before you wash your face. I’m creating my own BB cream with my foundation. Moisturise from acne.org.za, and I mix a little bit of shim.
Look at that glow!
Applying foundation gradually allows you not to get that cakey look. Many people have asked me how I get such a natural-looking glow.
This is the secret: I apply foundation very gradually! The more gradual your application, the less cakey your face will look. I start by applying a small amount of BB cream to one section of my face at a time, blending it with my fingers or a damp sponge. Then, I move on to another section until every inch of my skin has been covered in BB cream!
I’m a massive fan of mineral-based sunscreen because it doesn’t clog pores and is easy to apply. I use it daily, whether going outside for an hour or staying out all day. I also love that this particular brand it’s unscented and absorbs into my skin without clogging my pores. And more importantly, it fits into my makeup routine.
